This 600 year old art form takes its name from Kaav in Konkani which refers to red pigment obtained from laterite. This is the only colour used in a painting. The original process takes a long time but with the help of a brush and Kaav, we can make Kaavi Art contemporary form in a short period of time. In this workshop we will be using the same new techniques and will understand the importance of Kaavi Art. How we can use Kaav (red soil) as a pigment in our work is the beauty of this workshop.
