Bismarck Dias Born on January 9th 1961, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania – East Africa. Graduated in 1983 from Goa College of Art with a Bachelor's degree in Applied Arts (Advertising & Graphic Design). Worked as an Art Director/Creative Director with MNCs like Trikaya Grey, Ogilvy & Mather and Lintas in Mumbai - India, and in Dubai – UAE with Bates PanGulf, FP7 McKaan, Catevo (Dubai/N.Carolina/Paris) and Communique Advertising, The Picture Bar to name a few. He also collaborated with advertising film production companies in Mumbai, Milano, Paris, Cape Town, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur. Bismarck has also been a creative consultant to several Advertising agencies, start-ups, Corporate companies and Premium brands. Over 35 years of advertising experience and responsible for building brands like Thums Up, Cadbury’s 5 Star, Bajaj Auto (Kawasaki), Castrol, Park Avenue, Kamasutra condoms, Sony Gulf, British American Tobacco (Benson & Hedges, Lucky Strike, etc) and Dubai Shopping Festival. He has received a couple of prestigious advertising awards in various categories in India and abroad. Illustrations and drawings were always very close to his heart, so he simultaneously collaborated with leading publishing establishments in Mumbai, and that kick-started his pursuit into painting. Many of his works have adorned homes, resorts and are with private collectors all around the world. A number of his Art pieces were exhibited in a group exhibition - Artmosphere 2019 at Shashi’s Balcao in Varca. In 2024, he participated in the St Francis Xavier’s Art Expo ‘Footprints of Hope’ in Old Goa, which is open to the public to date. Carpe Diem is thrilled to showcase this upcoming exhibition.
