‘Dev Borem Korum’ a solo exhibition by Mohan Naik is all set to open on January 11, 7 pm at Carpe Diem Art Gallery, Majorda.
Born and brough up in the Goa, Naik’s works are described as stylistically Indian, aesthetically figurative and always dealing with the theme of village life and human association with livestock.
With a clear focus on the subject of rural harmony, he often reminisces on a simple lifestyle that is being fast lost in this developing world. His skills in working with difficult mediums such as oils have been proven time and again and the quality and durability of his works have also stood the test of time in the decades gone by.
Over the years many of his clients have grown from acquaintances to good friends. Through this latest exhibition, 'Dev Borem Koruni’ Naik is determined to express his gratitude to his fans and well-wishers by dedicating this show to them and ensuring that the experience they have
continues to remain both warm, fantastical and affordable.
His latest collection includes oils as well as acrylics and for those familiar with his art, it brings a return of the brighter yellow and
orange hues that his older works were renowned for. Detail in each
work and his simplistic titling of the art allows everyone to understand and make personal sense and meaning when viewing the show. The exhibition will continue till February 9.
