After displaying his paintings at Mumbai and Delhi, artist Deviprasad C Rao is down in Goa with his painting exhibition titled 'My Journey to Portugal'. The show, hosted by The Consul General of Portugal in Goa and Carpe Diem Art Gallery, Majorda, has paintings exhibiting the impressions Deviprasad gathered during his visit to Portugal.
Impressed by the architectural wealth, enchanting skyline and warmth of the citizens in Portugal, Deviprasad was infused with passion to transform his toughts and experiences into a tangible form. Painting being his natural source of channelising his thoughts and experiences he gave it life by adding colour and texture.
A typical maverick in his approach towards art in general and stylistic approach in particular, Deviprasad has been experimenting all along since he began putting bursh to canvas.
His fascination for architecture grew into inspiration after he worked with architects a few years back. City skyline, majestic castles and monasteries dotting the Portuguese landscape tend to influence and remain the point of impression and inspiration for these Paintings.
Deviprasad has studied and lived at different places during the course of his life, including Karnataka, Maharashtra and Goa and believes in adding colour to the life of people around with his multi-hued paintings.
(The exhibition will be open for public viewing till September 13 at Carpe Diem Art Gallery, Majorda)
