Christian Art on Canvas

Christian Art has been collected and documented in great detail over the centuries from its Orthodox Greek influences, through the Byzantine period, to the Renaissance and modern art styles to today. Primarily through the support of the church, its appeal extended from religious and public venues in ancient cities to the homes of everyday people.

Alex Rodrigues is an artist from South Goa who though informally trained has had a number of successful exhibitions both internationally and locally. His unique style of working and themes he portrays has set him apart as an artist worth watching and supporting. In this exhibition, Alex, through his method of painting onlt with fingers and fingernails has created a small series of Christian Art and pick on themes from the life of Christ, the Old Testament and include religious icons.
