A new solo exhibition by Goan sculptor and artist Damodar Madgaonkar is all set to open at Carpe Diem Art Gallery in Majorda on February 25.
Inspired by his father’s work budding artist Mohan Naik is all set for his debut solo art show at Carpe Diem Art Gallery, Majorda.
“My father is very inspired by the village and I am inspired by my father, as I grew up looking at his paintings”, says Mo hit Naik as he prepares to open a major solo show of his works in Goa.
On December 11, Carpe Diem Art Gallery, in Majorda previews the works of artist Vitesh Naik, titled 'Mystical Body,' a collection of paintings in mixed media on paper. Having recently been awarded the 'Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant,' he says, "The grant has given me the opportunity to realise my dream of holding a solo show."
How often does one get a chance to interact on a one on one basis with Goa's more well known artists? Carpe Diem Art Gallery - Majorda is pleased to host "The Artist Acquaintances" - a weekly artist camp cum group art exhibition curated by Daegal Godinho and Swetlana Cardoso. Art enthusiasts, buyers and collectors will get a chance to view a work in progress as well as have a personal interaction with select Goan artists over the course of two months beginning from April '21.
Carpe Diem Art Gallery, Majorda is hosting the exhibition of Australia-based Indian artist Vasanth Rao on his series of Colour Engineering' that will exhibit the works emerged from his surrealistic dreams and ideas. The exhibition was inaugurated eminent Indian abstract artist Prabhakar Kolte.
An art exhibition titled, 'Cass Goesas' by artist Akeru Barros Pereira was inaugurated on March 22 by architect Gerard da Cunha at Carpe Diem Art Gallery, Majorda.
Da Cunha said that he has known Akeru for ten years and recalled how he met her at an exhibition titled 'Houses of Goa' at Kala Academy and went to find out more about it. "I loved her paintings because its subject was close to my heart," he said.
Art has been the very first language which we humans chose to communicate with. The symbols, signs and colours formed the basis of what we define as today's languages. The future of the world art market is inextricably bound up with changes to our society and its role in the world. We all work towards art fundamentally becoming more than an award, a respected space for ideas and knowledge that enrich the rapidly changing societies in our world.
